I just wanted to let you know that I have the students story text posted on the Everett Eagles site, but I don't have their pix on with them yet. So you might want to wait to read them & comment until I get the pix on. thanks :o)

Student Stories
I have had my first graders working on editing (some...not a lot) & typing (publishing) one of their stories on the computer. As soon as I figure out how to post on the Everett Eagles Blog site again, I'll get those stories there. I had hoped to post the pictures that they had drawn too. However, I was having problems with scanning them & only getting the pix, not the rest of their rough draft. Due to a lack of free time, I've given up on that. I'm going to try to take the student's pix with their drawing to post with their story. Boy, I found out that if you don't use it you lose it! Since I haven't posted on the Everett site since last May, I can't remember what to do. I know that the kids will be so excited to see their work on the internet!! I hope that when I get it posted some teacher's will read & send comments back to them. All for now.

Educational Website
I took a workshop for Contribute Websites in just 2 nights of a couple hours each. The format of the site was already set up, so I really just had to learn how to put in my information. It was really easy! I gave the site address out to parents at conferences in hopes that they will use it for information about our class & school. I also have a link to my site through our school site. Now the challenge will be to keep it updated. But I'm going to give it my best effort. :o)

Atomic Learning Assessmentl-2
I took the atomic learning assessment again & got a score of 61 this time. This is quite an improvement from 47 the first time. I'm not sure that I really improved that much in one year or if I was just hard on myself the first time. I still need to work on sound & video areas a bunch. But I feel ok about my progress. I know this was the first concentrated year of working as a learning community & look forward to the coming year to learn & share more. :o)

My Techie Journey this year
Ok, so I am suppose to post again to reflect on where I am on my techie journey. I have learned some cool new aspects of technology this year. I know that I have a long way to go, but am feeling good about the progress I've made. I've got my own blog site, I have linkin' logs set up (that I use constantly between 3 machines), I know how to instant message (the basics)....that's quite a bit in a year.
I would still like to learn to make power points & to use them with ease & confidence. I might try to take a class this summer (depends on daycare of course). Another aspect that I'd like to take a class on is setting up my own web page. I don't know if I'd have enough room on the Ulocker for it though. I've messed with Comic Life, but hope to mess with it more this summer so that I can get good at it to use with kids next year. I guess one more goal before next year would be to get airport access in my classroom. I'd also like to get it at home, but then I'd be on the computer all the time......(hubby won't like that).
As Joni R said, I hope that this group can continue on next year. There is so much more for us to learn & new things coming out all the time. Maybe we could each make a goal of an area to learn & then teach it to the others in the group. This would help with our "teaching" aspect for our Atomic learning eval. Thanks to all who have shared their knowledge, time, and talents.:o)

Another educational games site
One of my students, A.C., told me about this new site they had found at home that had learning games on it. It is called "GameGoo". It is good for primary kids/levels. My daughter played some of the games & had fun. There are 3 levels of skill to choose games from. Check it out.
